5-7 Aged Horse Riding Camp

Welcome to Pony Sense Day Camp!

At Bar JO Ranch, we invite young pony and horse lovers (ages 5 to 7) to join us for an unforgettable three or five-day horseback adventure! Our camp runs weekly throughout July and August, with newly added Spring Break Camps in March and April.

Campers are transported daily from Calgary and Cochrane, with convenient pick-up and drop-off locations at:

  • Central Memorial High School
  • Norma Bush Hockey Arena
  • Bearspaw Lifestyle Centre
  • Cochrane High School

Self-transportation is allowed, but registration fees remain the same. Camp hours are 10am to 3pm.

Get ready for an unforgettable season! Our 2026 horse & pony adventure camps are now open for registration — and we’re holding 2025 pricing for campers who secure their spot before January 15, 2026.

Early Bird Pricing (plus tax):

Ages 5–7 years: $600.00

Hurry! This special pricing is only available for registrations completed on or before Jan 15, 2026. Spaces are limited — reserve your child’s spot today!

Each weekly session emphasizes safety, fundamental riding skills, and common-sense pony and horse interaction. Campers will gain hands-on experience in:

  • Proper techniques for tying, grooming, and saddling a pony and horse
  • How to mount, steer, and stop a pony and horse safely
  • Arena exercises
  • Games on horseback
  • Riding drills
  • Groundwork activities
  • Gymkhana races
  • Mini assisted trail rides around the ranch
Horse camps offer children invaluable life lessons by fostering responsibility, empathy, and confidence. Caring for horses teaches patience and discipline, while horseback riding improves physical strength, coordination, and problem-solving skills. Additionally, our camp provides a fun, screen-free environment where kids can build friendships, develop teamwork, and enjoy the beauty of Alberta’s foothills.

Our priority is to provide a safe, fun, and educational equestrian experience for young riders. We welcome any questions or concerns and encourage parents to reach out at any time.

Join us at Bar JO Ranch and create lasting memories in the great outdoors!
